Bradford GRID* Business Gem Awards

Jenny Pupius of Action for Business Ltd in Bradford contacted Swift Realisation when The GRID* decided to organise an Award Ceremony for its members.  This was The GRID's first Award Ceremony and no-one in the GRID* team had any experience of organising an event of this type or this scale - let alone the time! 

Swift Realisation coordinated the event form start to finish including developing an event outline, writing the script for the event, liaising with speakers and sponsors, organising entertainment, theming and decorating the venue, designing event stationery and coordinating staff on the night - leaving the team to concentrate on their real jobs (- and ticket sales!)

Burton's Restaurant at Sheffield Food Festival

Burton's Restaurant is one of the many exciting enterprises run by The Burton Street Foundation.

The restaurant run by Manager Angela Rodgers, Chef Mathew Rodgers and a team of volunteers (- all of whom are undertaking training in catering and hospitality at the Foundation) was opening on the 2nd Friday evening of each month and the team were keen to grow their customer base and open more frequently.  When the opportunity to exhibit at the Sheffield Food Festival came her way, Angela seized it... but needed a little 'Swift Realisation' support.

Kristy developed a plan for the 4 days, worked with Angela and Matt to create a suitable menu of signature dishes, designed and kitted out the exhibition space - colour scheme, banners, decor etc and created some promotional literature that doubled up as recipe cards for each of the signature dishes.

During the festival, Kristy worked with the team - ensuring that as many people as possible found out about the restaurant.  We exceeded our target of people signing up for the mailing list on the first day - and by the end of the festival had exceeded the target by 470% meaning that the restaurant is now open and fully booked on two evenings each month and also for Sunday lunch.

Identities CIC

Identities CIC is a social enterprise based in Doncaster established to offer personal development support to women.

Managing Director, Michelle Swann contacted Swift Realisation to discuss her many ideas for a new website which was to include a members network, business directory, online programmes, the sale of e-workbooks, event management and online bookings and much, much more.  The multi-faceted site was developed and launched within a month to Michelle's delight.

Michelle says "Kristy was amazing and she really does live up to the name of her company - Swift Realisation. She keeps you and the project on track until it is finished. I wish Kristy could work with us full time!!"

Magellan's

Magellan's Cafe, located in the Quadrant business centre, had since opening in 2005 been run by independent businesses.  As well as providing hot and cold food and drinks for tenants and visitors, the cafe caters for conference and meeting clients, providing buffets and refreshments and so is an essential element of the Quadrant offer.

At the beginning of December, the company running the cafe gave a months notice, leaving the Quadrant management team with a challenge - especially with the Christmas break looming.

Centre Manager, Jim Coleman called Swift Realisation and asked for help in finding a solution.  After a couple of meetings the management team decided to bring the cafe in house and Kristy set to work on developing a business plan and financial model for the cafe, identifying suppliers, developing a new menu, recruiting staff and launching the cafe on 5 January!

Swift Realisation continues to provide support and advice to Magellan's, meeting regularly with the team, updating and making continuous improvements to the menus etc.

Skoll World Forum

The Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship is the premier, international platform for accelerating entrepreneurial approaches and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing social issues.

Each year in Oxford, 900 distinguished delegates from the social, finance, private and public sectors convene in Oxford for three days and nights of critical debates, discussions and work sessions aimed at innovating, accelerating and scaling solutions to social challenges.

Kristy has worked on the forum for the past 2 years and will be returning once again in 2012.  Working alongside Maire McCarthy Ltd, the event production team (A Caspian Production) and a team of 70+ stewards, Kristy is responsible for delegate registration and front of house at the Said Business School.

The Base Business Centre

The Base is a business centre in Doncaster offering serviced offices, meeting and conference rooms - set up to provide a sustainable income stream to support sister company Open Cast CIC. 

Bob Dowling, Director, brought Swift Realisation in to help get the business off the ground.  Being the sole employee of the Base, Bob needed someone to bounce ideas off and someone to help kickstart his marketing activity.

Swift Realisation worked with Bob to develop a marketing plan and now works with The Base on an ongoing basis, providing support and keeping the momentum going.

The Quadrant

The Quadrant is Sheffield's premier business centre, located just outside the city centre.  Centre Manager, Jim Coleman asked Swift Realisation for support with developing and implementing a marketing strategy for both the serviced offices and conference and meeting facilities.

Kristy is working with the team on an ongoing basis - meeting regularly to maintain momentum and carrying out tasks that the team don't have the resource to complete in house - including developing and maintaining the website, social media strategy, monthly email campaigns etc.
